eyeCan is a gesture recognition engine based on eyeSight’s Touch Free Interface technology. It allows the user to interact with the mobile device easily and intuitively, without touching the keypad or touch screen.

The eyeCan engine utilizes the mobile phone's built-in camera, along with advanced real-time image processing algorithms, to track the user's hand motions and translate them to user actions.  eyeCan is highly optimized for mobile phone low CPU capabilities and power consumption. eyeCan detects a set of four simple hand gestures:

Left to right motion - Move your hand above the front camera from right of the device to left.

Right to left motion - Move your hand above the front camera from left of the device to right.

Cover the camera - Place hand on the mobile phone to cover the front camera.

“Tapping” motion - Place hand above camera for a brief moment.

Each gesture can be translated into actions such as skipping tracks, controlling the volume of a media player, scrolling pages in an E-book viewer or web browser, switching content channels in a media streaming application and more…
